Milford Public Library - New Library Director Needed

The Milford Public Library Board of Directors seeks a creative and innovative Library Director to lead the library into the future. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader who can bring out the best in a dedicated staff and effectively represent and promote the library in the community with energy and enthusiasm.  Under guidance and direction from the Library Board, the Director performs professional and administrative duties in planning, developing, implementing, and directing public library services for the Milford Public Library. These duties include, but are not limited to, budget preparation, strategic planning, human resources, personnel management, collection development, community relations, and customer relations.

Qualifications:

A master’s degree in library science (M.L.S. or M.L.I.S.) from an ALA-accredited institution or a bachelor’s degree with significant job-related coursework or training (preference for candidates with a master’s degree).

A Librarian Certificate 3 (LC3) is preferred; however, the position requires a Librarian Certificate 4 (LC4) as described by Librarian Certification Administrative Rule 590 and the Indiana Public Library Certification Manual.

Compensation:

Hiring salary range: $60,000 – $80,000 (negotiable based on experience and qualifications).
Excellent fringe benefits package.
