Celebrate National Library Card Sign-Up Month at Milford Public Library! Anyone who signs up for a new library card in September will be entered into a prize drawing, with separate prizes for children, teens, and adults.

Library cards are free for residents of the Town of Milford, Van Buren Township, and eastern Jefferson Township, thanks to generous taxpayer support. Those living outside our service area may purchase a one-year non-resident membership for $68.

Library Card Sign-Up Month began in 1987 with a challenge from Education Secretary William Bennett encouraging every child to get and use a library card. Nearly 40 years later, libraries continue to connect people of all ages with opportunities to read, learn, and discover.

“Libraries are still offering access to opportunities for all ages through reading,” said Milford Library Director Karl Stutzman.
