Unattended Children Policy

A colorful poster for Milford Public Library, stating that children 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

We at Milford Public Library love to see your children come to the library, but we are concerned for their welfare and safety when they are unattended. Therefore, we have adopted the following statement:

1.    All children age thirteen (13) and younger must be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult.

2.    Library usage is a privilege. Any child creating a disturbance or causing a nuisance may be removed from the library.

3.    The Milford Public Library assumes no responsibility for children left unattended in the library.

4.    Parents attending meetings or programs are encouraged to keep their children with them or have them adequately supervised by accompanying adults in our children’s room area only. A suggested ratio would be five children per adult.

Thank you very much for helping us to make the library a safer place for your children.
